Case filed over shooting death of Swechchasebak Dal leader

A murder case has been filed with Tejgaon Police Station regarding the shooting death of Azizur Rahman Musabbir, the former general secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan North unit of Swechchasebak Dal.

The victim's wife, Suraiya Begum, filed the case (No. 5) early Thursday morning, accusing three to four unidentified individuals. 

Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kaishnya Marma confirmed the filing of the case.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night around 8:15 pm in an alley behind Bashundhara Market in the Tejturi Bazar area, near Star Kabab. 

Musabbir sustained three gunshot wounds to the stomach and was rushed to BRB Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

A second victim, Sufian Bepari Masud, 50, was also injured in the attack. 

Masud, the general secretary of the Karwan Bazar Van Workers Union, suffered a gunshot wound to the ribs and is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

DMP Tejgaon Division ADC Fazlul Karim provided initial details of the shooting to the media on Wednesday night.
