Fire in residential building in Uttara, 6 dead

Six people were killed in a fire on the second floor of a building on the 7th floor of Road No. 18 in Sector No. 11 of Uttara in the capital.

Thirteen people have been rescued from the building and sent to Kuwait Friendship Hospital.

The fire broke out at around 7:50 am on Friday morning, the Fire Service said.

The deceased are Fazle Rabbi (38), Haris (52) and Rahab (17), Afsana, Rodela Akhter (14) and two-and-a-half-year-old child Risan.

Fire Service sources said they died of smoke inhalation.

The fire was extinguished around 10 am. Thirteen people fell ill due to smoke inhalation in the fire. They have been rescued. They are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Talha bin Jasim, the officer-in-charge of the media cell of the Fire Service, said that on Friday morning at 7:50 am, two units from the North Fire Station left for the scene at 7:54 am on the news that a fire had broken out in the area of ​​Road No. 18, Sector No. 11, Uttara.

The units of the Fire Service reached the scene at 7:58 am and started working to control the fire. It was possible to control the fire after half an hour of effort. And the fire was completely extinguished around 10 am.

Talha bin Jasim said that there was a lot of furniture in the house. They caught fire. Therefore, the fire spread quickly.

The initial idea of ​​the Fire Service is that the fire may have started from an electrical short-circuit.
