CA urges 'Yes' vote in referendum to usher in a new Bangladesh

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has called on the people of Bangladesh to vote 'Yes' in the upcoming referendum, stating that sealing 'Yes' will open the door to building a new Bangladesh.

In his address to the nation on Monday evening, he urged citizens to participate actively and vote in favour of the reforms.

Dr. Yunus described the July Uprising as an extraordinary milestone in the nation's history, one that unexpectedly created a rare opportunity to establish true democracy, justice, and human rights for all.

He highlighted that the interim government has already undertaken several key reforms to advance this goal.

Emphasising the importance of the July Charter, he explained that it was formulated through consensus among all major political parties to enable deep and lasting reforms.

"Your approval is essential for the implementation of this July Charter," he said, adding, "A referendum has been arranged for this purpose. I urge everyone to take part and give your consent to the charter."

The Chief Advisor noted that the referendum will coincide with the national parliamentary election on February 12.

He added that a 'Yes' vote would free Bangladesh from discrimination, exploitation, and oppression, paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future.

Dr. Yunus appealed to the nation to seize this historic moment and support the reforms for the greater good of the country.
