Customers want affordable solar connections

A majority of respondents in the CPD-Daily Samkal survey expressed strong interest in getting low-cost off-grid solar power connections. 

The rate is highest at 84 percent for TR/KAVITA programme participants. 

The interest rate for rooftop users is about 80 percent while the interest rate for EDCOL users is about 71 percent.

Overall, this positive response indicates a huge demand for low-cost off-grid solar power among current and potential users.

Users generally prefer larger solar packages; which have more extensive facilities like lighting, fans and other appliances. 

It is expected that advanced solar systems that are compatible with household electricity needs will become popular as the scope of the package expands beyond basic lighting.
