President Shahabuddin to vote by postal ballot

President Md. Shahabuddin will vote by postal ballot in the 13th parliamentary election and referendum.

Akhtar Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat, confirmed this information to reporters on Tuesday. 

He said, "We have been contacted by the office of the President. We will take action later."

Three categories of citizens within the country - government employees, law enforcement officers and prisoners - are getting the opportunity to vote by postal ballot this time. 

In addition, expatriates residing in 122 countries will also vote by postal ballot this time. 

In total, more than 1.533 million voters have registered to vote by postal ballot.

Voting for the 13th parliamentary election and referendum will be held on February 12 from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
