Subrata Bain's aide Bipu arrested with 13 firearms in Badda

The joint forces conducted a raid on a house in the Post Office Para area of North Badda in the capital, where they seized a large consignment of both domestic and foreign weapons along with ammunition. 

During the operation, a person named Mehedi Hasan Bipu was arrested. He is known to be a close associate of the top terrorist Subrata Bain. From his house, the forces recovered 13 different types of firearms and a total of 394 rounds of ammunition.

According to a concerned source, another individual named Sayeed from Badda is also close to Bipu. There are specific allegations of extortion against Bipu in the areas of Badda, Gulshan, and Baridhara. 

Another source has indicated that terrorists Mehedi Collins and Golam Mortuza Babu are also closely associated with him. Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating whether these recovered weapons were being rented out or supplied to various other terrorists.

In recent times, joint forces have been recovering weapons and ammunition one after another through raids conducted in different parts of the country.

Since the announcement of the election schedule until February 5, a total of 204 weapons and 1,965 rounds of ammunition have been seized in joint operations carried out by the forces.

On Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that a joint team led by the army, acting on intelligence information, raided the house of Mehedi Hasan Bipu in Badda at around 2 am on Friday. 

From the premises, they recovered seven pistols, three revolvers, two air guns, one rifle, two rifle magazines, eight pistol magazines, 394 rounds of pistol bullets, 30 pieces of cartridges, more than 2,000 air gun pellets, one binocular, four pistol grip sight covers, three Chinese axes, one foreign knife, two walkie-talkie sets, one walkie-talkie battery and charger, and one laptop. Mehedi Hasan Bipu was arrested during this raid.

Badda Police Station Inspector (Operations) Azharul Islam told Daily Samakal that preparations are underway to file a case against Bipu, and he will be produced before the court on Saturday.

According to the ISPR, Bipu had been secretly storing these illegal weapons and explosives with the intention of destabilising the upcoming election environment.
