Hopeful about victory, but conspiracy to defeat me is going on: Hasnat Abdullah

Hasnat Abdullah, known as Shaplakali and the Jamaat alliance candidate for the Cumilla-4 (Debidwar) constituency, as well as the main organiser of the National Citizen Party (NCP) for the southern region, cast his vote on Thurs morning. 

He voted around 8 am Thursday at the Gopal Nagar High School center in Debidwar upazila. 

Speaking to reporters afterward, he expressed hope for victory but claimed a conspiracy was underway to defeat him. 

He alleged that individuals involved in the July murders had become active in the field and were intimidating voters. 

Despite this, he described the atmosphere as festive since morning, with voters arriving at centers enthusiastically, and he predicted that Shaplakali's victory would be confirmed as the day progressed, InshaAllah.

In this constituency, the BNP candidate Manjurul Ahsan Munshi's nomination was rejected over allegations of concealing information related to bank loans and affidavits. 

The BNP alliance then supported Md. A. Jasim Uddin (Truck symbol) from the Gono Odhikar Parishad. 

Other candidates in the race include Irfanul Haque Sarkar (Apple) from Insaniat Biplob Bangladesh and Md. Abdul Karim (Hatpakha) from Islami Andolan Bangladesh.
