It is out of question to join BNP cabinet: Asif Nazrul

Asif Nazrul, the Law, Judicial and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser, has categorically stated that there is no question of his joining the BNP cabinet.

He made this clear while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Sunday afternoon.

Asif Nazrul also shared that the swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected members of parliament and the new cabinet has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, at the South Plaza of the National Parliament.

The oath-taking for MPs will take place at 10 am, followed by the cabinet oath-taking at 4 pm.

He mentioned that he believes the Chief Election Commissioner will administer the oath to the members of parliament, while the President will swear in the cabinet members.

He added that holding the cabinet oath-taking at the South Plaza reflects the BNP's intention.

Regarding invitations, the Law Adviser explained that the matter is being handled by the Cabinet Division in line with established conventions.

He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended invitations to the foreign ministers of SAARC countries, but he was unaware of any invitations being sent to Prime Ministers.

When directly asked about the possibility of his own inclusion in the upcoming cabinet, Asif Nazrul firmly reiterated, “There is no question of my presence in the cabinet.”
