37 houses ready for ministers, state ministers: Adviser Adilur

Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan has announced that 37 houses are ready for the incoming ministers, state ministers, and deputy ministers of the new government.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Monday, Adilur Rahman stated that these residences are located in areas such as Minto Road, Hare Road, Dhanmondi, and Gulshan. 

He added that preparations are underway to ready additional houses if more are needed.

However, the official residence for the new Prime Minister has not yet been finalised. 

Adilur Rahman clarified that it will be arranged according to the preferences of the incoming Prime Minister and in consultation with relevant parties, such as the BNP.

Some of the 37 houses are currently occupied by advisers from the interim government. Once they vacate, the residences will be prepared for the new cabinet members, according to sources in the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.

The interim government had earlier explored several options for the Prime Minister's residence—including the State Guest House Jamuna, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker's residences in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area near the National Parliament, and locations in the Defense Ministry area—but no final decision was reached. 

It was tentatively considered that Jamuna could serve as the residence, but this remains subject to confirmation.

The swearing-in ceremony for the new ministers and state ministers is expected to take place on Tuesday. 

Meanwhile, the Cabinet Division has directed the Government Vehicles Department to prepare the required number of vehicles for them.
