BNP Parliamentary Party elects Tarique Rahman as leader

Tarique Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has been unanimously elected as the Leader of the BNP Parliamentary Party.

The election took place during a meeting of the BNP parliamentary party held around 11:30 am on Tuesday in the meeting room of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the development while speaking to reporters.

Earlier in the day, the newly elected BNP Members of Parliament from the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election took their oath of office. Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin administered the oaths to the lawmakers at 10:43 am in the Oath Room of Sangsad Bhaban.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, the BNP parliamentary party convened its meeting, during which Tarique Rahman was elected as its leader.
