Portfolios of the new cabinet

The new cabinet members took their oaths in a ceremony held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises after 4 pm on Tuesday, in the presence of the President, the new Prime Minister, and the cabinet members. 

The oath-taking began with BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, who won the 13th National Parliament election, being sworn in as the 11th Prime Minister by President Md. Shahabuddin at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. 

Following that, the full ministers took their oaths, and then the state ministers.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been assigned the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry. 

Salauddin Ahmed received the Home Ministry, while Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury was given the Finance and Planning Ministry. 

Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed took charge of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry, and Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku was assigned the Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry. 

Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain was given the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs along with Social Welfare.

Dr. Khalilur Rahman (technocrat) received the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Abdul Awal Mintoo the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mizanur Rahman Minu the Land Ministry, Nitai Roy Chowdhury the Cultural Affairs Ministry, and Mohammad Asaduzzaman the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

Other assignments include Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad for Religious Affairs, Ariful Haque Chowdhury for Labour and Employment as well as Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Khandaker Abdul Muktadir for Commerce, Industry, Textiles and Jute, Zahir Uddin Swapan for Information and Broadcasting, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie for Water Resources, Ehsanul Haque Milon for Education including Primary and Mass Education, Amin Ur Rashid (technocrat) for Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock along with Food, Afroza Khanam for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Asadul Habib Dulu for Disaster Management and Relief, Zakaria Taher for Housing and Public Works, Dipen Dewan for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain Bakul for Health and Family Planning, Fakir Mahbub Anam for Posts and Telecommunications as well as Science and Technology, and Sheikh Rabiul Alam for Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping.

Among the state ministers, M Rashiduzzaman Millat was assigned to Civil Aviation and Tourism, Anindya Islam Amit to Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Shariful Alam to Commerce, Industry, Textiles and Jute, Shama Obaid to Foreign Affairs, Sultan Salauddin Tuku to Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock along with Food, Barrister Kaiser Kamal to Land, Farhad Hossain Azad to Water Resources, and Aminul Haque (technocrat) to Youth and Sports.
