Metrorail to operate on new schedule during Ramadan

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced a special schedule for Metrorail operations to mark the occasion of Ramadan. 

This schedule will come into effect from the first day of Ramadan and continue until the day before Eid-ul-Fitr.

This information was provided in a notification signed by DMTCL Director (Administration) AKM Khairul Alam on Tuesday. 

According to the new schedule, the first train from Uttara North to Motijheel will depart at 6:30 am, with the last train leaving at 9:30 pm. 

The first train from Motijheel to Uttara North will depart at 7:15 am, and the last train at 10:10 pm.

In consideration of passengers who are fasting, arrangements have been made to allow the carrying of water during Iftar. 

Each passenger may carry a maximum of 250 millilitre water bottles. 

However, passengers have been requested to take care to avoid spilling water, and the authorities have instructed that used bottles should be disposed of in the designated dustbins.

The notification stated that the schedule on Fridays, Saturdays, and other public holidays will remain unchanged.
