Abdus Salam takes charge as new DSCC administrator

Valiant freedom fighter M Abdus Salam has formally assumed office as the administrator of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

He received the charge from Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday.

Prior to this, President ordered his appointment as DSCC administrator, with a gazette notification issued by Joint Secretary Mahbuba Iyreen on behalf of the Local Government Division.

Sources indicate that the appointment aims to streamline administrative operations and enhance citizen services in the DSCC, making them more efficient and dynamic.

In his new role, the administrator is expected to spearhead development initiatives and oversee overall urban management for the corporation.
