Girl seeking justice for rape snatched from father and killed

A teenage girl who had sought justice after being raped was kidnapped from her father and subsequently killed in Madhavadi, Narsingdi.

Police recovered her body on Thursday morning from a mustard field in the Kotalirchar Darikandi area of Madhavadi, with a veil tied around her neck.

The victim's family, originally from Barishal, had been living in a rented house in the Bilpar area of Madhavadi due to her father's work. 

According to their allegations, about 15 days earlier, a gang of 5-6 individuals led by a local figure named Noora abducted the girl while she was returning home from work and raped her. Efforts to resolve the matter locally, led by Ahmed, a member of Ward No. 9 in the Mahishasura Union Parishad, failed to deliver justice. Instead, the family was reportedly pressured to leave the area.

On Wednesday afternoon, the father was escorting his daughter to her aunt's house after work. As they passed through the Baraitala area, Noora and five others forcibly snatched the girl from him. Family members searched for her unsuccessfully and returned home. 

The following morning, locals discovered her body in the mustard field, and relatives later confirmed her identity.

Narsingdi Additional Superintendent of Police Sujan Chandra Sarkar stated that police inspected the scene and recovered the body upon receiving the information. 

No formal written complaint has been filed yet, but authorities are actively working to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
