Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday in Bangladesh

The Shawwal moon was not sighted anywhere in Bangladesh's sky. Consequently, the holy month of Ramadan will conclude with 30 days on Friday, and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country on Saturday, March 21.

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad made this announcement following the National Moon-Sighting Committee's meeting on Thursday evening.

In his briefing, he confirmed that no sighting of the Shawwal moon occurred on Thursday, meaning Ramadan ends tomorrow (Friday) and the joyous Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Middle Eastern countries including Saudi Arabia declared Eid-ul-Fitr based on their moon sighting on Wednesday. Since the Shawwal moon was not visible there that day, Ramadan completed 30 days on Thursday, with Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated on Friday, March 20.
