Mirza Abbas's physical condition improving in Singapore

Mirza Abbas, the political adviser to the Prime Minister and a member of the BNP standing committee, is showing signs of improvement in his physical condition while receiving treatment at Singapore General Hospital. 

He is now able to speak slowly and has been moved from his bed to a chair around 10 am on Monday, which doctors consider a positive development. 

He remains under close observation.

Social Welfare Minister and BNP standing committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain shared this update with the media, citing the doctors at the hospital. 

He noted that various bodily parameters are showing positive signs, indicating overall improvement. 

However, full recovery of brain function will require more time, and he appealed for prayers from everyone for his complete healing.

Mirza Abbas's personal assistant secretary, Mizanur Rahman Sohel, who is with him in Singapore, confirmed the progress and echoed the request for prayers, adding that the family is also seeking support from countrymen.

The senior leader was initially admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka after falling ill and losing consciousness during Iftar on March 11. 

A specialist medical board recommended brain surgery, which took place on March 13 and lasted four hours. 

He spent two days in the ICU afterward before being transferred to Singapore General Hospital via air ambulance on March 15. 

His wife, Afroza Abbas, and son, Yasir Abbas, have been staying by his side throughout his hospitalisation.
