Primary schools to remain open for 10 consecutive Saturdays

The Directorate of Primary Education has instructed to keep schools open for the next 10 Saturdays after the start of class activities after the holy month of Ramadan. 

An office order signed by the Deputy Director (Pre-Primary and Integrated Education) of the Directorate of Primary Education, Md. Joynal Abedin, was issued on Tuesday.

The office order said that to make up for the learning deficit of students due to the declaration of school holidays throughout the month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has instructed to conduct teaching activities in government primary schools for the next 10 Saturdays after the start of class activities in schools after the Ramadan holidays. 

It is requested to take further necessary steps in this regard, said the order.

It is to be noted that the holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr in government primary schools of the country began on March 8. Class activities are scheduled to resume on March 29 after the holidays.
