Ivy granted bail in two cases

Former Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy has been granted bail in two cases filed with Siddhirganj Police Station in Narayanganj in connection with the July Uprising.

The High Court bench comprising Justice KM Zahid Sarwar Kajal and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher passed the order on Thursday.

Barrister Sara Hossain, Advocate Motahar Hossain Saju, and Advocate SM Hridoy represented Ivy before the court.

Ivy was arrested from Narayanganj city on the night of May 9 last year and was subsequently shown arrested in multiple cases.

The High Court had earlier granted her bail in five cases, though the orders were later suspended by the Appellate Division.

On November 18, she was shown arrested in five additional cases and received bail in all of them on February 26. Those orders were also suspended following applications by the state.

In this context, the concerned police station applied to show Ivy arrested in two cases, involving murder allegations, filed with Siddhirganj Police Station on September 11, 2024 and June 30, 2025. 

The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Narayanganj approved the applications on March 2 for one case and April 12 for the other.
