Florida police confirm remains of Brishti

The police have confirmed that the remains recovered for the second time in Florida, USA, are those of Bangladeshi student Nahida Sultana Brishti. 

In a statement issued on Friday, the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington said, citing the family, “Today, the Florida Police Department called Nahida Sultana Brishti’s brother and confirmed that the second body recovered is that of Brishti.”

The embassy said, “Brishti’s family has requested to take the initiative to send the body to Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, DC, is initiating the process of sending Brishti’s body to the country through the Bangladesh Consulate in Miami.” 

University of South Florida doctoral students Jamil Limon and Nahida S. Brishti had been missing since April 16. Eight days later, on April 24, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office confirmed the recovery of Limon's body from the Howard Frankland Bridge. Jamil's body will be sent to Bangladesh via Orlando International Airport in Florida on May 2. The body will arrive in Dhaka via Dubai on May 4.
