17 police officers, including 15 DIGs, on compulsory retirement

The government has sent 17 senior police officers on compulsory retirement.

The information was disclosed in a notification issued on Sunday signed by Manzur Morshed Chowdhury, Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry.

According to the notification, the officers were retired from government service in the public interest as per Section 45 of the Government Services Act 2018.

The officers are - Anti-Terrorism Unit DIG Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, Dhaka Highway Police DIG Imtiaz Ahmed, Dhaka CID DIG Md. Habibur Rahman, Police Headquarters (TR) DIG Saleh Mohammad Tanvir, National Security Intelligence Directorate Director Md. Harun-or-Rashid, Police Staff College DIG S. M. Akhtaruzzaman, Noakhali PTC Commandant (DIG) Md. Haider Ali Khan, Khulna PTC Commandant (DIG) Md. Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, DIG of Tourist Police Md. Ruhul Amin, DIG of Dhaka Highway Police Md. Rafiqul Hasan Gani.

The list also includes DIG of Dhaka Naval Police Md. Mizanur Rahman, Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (ordered to be transferred as DIG, CID) Md. Mazid Ali, DIG of Police Headquarters Kazi Zia Uddin, DIG of Dhaka Railway Police Md. Golam Rouf Khan, Commandant (DIG) of Rangpur PTC Sheikh Mohammad Rezaul Haider, DIG of Dhaka Highway Police Rakhfar Sultana Khanam and Superintendent of Police (Supernumerary Additional DIG) of Railway Police Farhat Ahmed.

The notification mentioned that the retired officers will receive retirement benefits as per the rules.
