16 lives of children claimed by measles, measles-like symptoms

A total of 16 more children have died in the country due to measles, measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours beginning from 8 am on Saturday to 8 am on Sunday.

During the same period, 1,434 people have been infected with measles and measles-like symptoms across the country. 

The total number of deaths from measles, measles-like symptoms, so far is 528.

10 in Dhaka, one in Rajshahi, one in Sylhet, one in Barishal, two in Mymensingh and one in Rangpur have died due to measles symptoms.

This information was given in the measles report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Monday.

In this regard, information has been received that 442 children have died due to measles symptoms in the country since March 15. During this period, 86 children have died after being diagnosed with measles.

According to the DGHS, 63,813 children have shown symptoms of measles since March 15 of this year. During the same period, 50,558 children were admitted to the hospital with measles symptoms. However, of them, 46,214 children have recovered and returned home from the hospital.
