All English medium schools to be brought under common policy: Bobby Hajjaj

The government has taken the initiative to bring all English medium educational institutions in the country under a common policy. 

Bobby Hajjaj, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education said the move is being taken to improve the quality of education, improve the quality of teaching, ensure the safety of students, accountability and ensure national interest.

He said this during a visit to the Aga Khan Academy, Dhaka located in the capital on Wednesday. 

During the time, he visited the 'Student Exhibition' organised by the students and observed their various research, innovative projects and creative presentations. 

The state minister said that the government is working to build an integrated and accountable education framework to ensure quality education for all students in the country. 

He said that emphasis is being given to developing the thinking power, innovative ability and leadership qualities of the students, not just by limiting them to good results in examinations.

He also said, "We want to build an education system where students not only produce good results, but also learn to think, innovate and lead. Today's students will lead the Bangladesh of the future. Therefore, one of our goals is to develop them by enriching them with world-class skills, values and creativity." 

He further said that the government is working towards ensuring that everyone, regardless of the medium of study - Bengali medium, English version or English medium - gets an equal opportunity to acquire national values, civic responsibility and international standard skills. 

During the visit, he praised the educational institution's modern education system, student-centered teaching and leadership development activities. 

He also called for further expansion of research, innovation and creative education practices in other educational institutions of the country. 

Teachers, students and concerned officials of the academy were present on the occasion.
