3 more children die of measles symptoms

Three more children have died in the country in the last 24 hours due to measles symptoms. 

During the same time, 117 more children have been newly infected with measles.

This information was given in the regular report on measles by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday. 

According to the report, the children deaths occurred between 8 am on Friday and 8 am on Saturday.

The DGHS said 522 children have died of measles symptoms since March 15 while 91 children have died of confirmed measles.

It also said information has been received that 915 more people have shown measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. 

The number of patients who have shown measles symptoms since March 15 is 77,791.

The DGHS said 117 confirmed measles patients have been identified in the last 24 hours. A total of 9,620 people have been diagnosed with measles in the country since March 15.

Since March 15, a total of 63,134 people have been admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms. Of them, 58,964 have recovered and left the hospital.

The health body said that two people died of measles symptoms in the last 24 hours in Dhaka division; and the remaining one in Sylhet division.
