Govt appoints chairmen for textbook board, five education boards

The government has appointed new chairmen for the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and the Dhaka, Jessore, Rajshahi, Cumilla and Bangladesh Madrasa Education Boards.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education issued separate notifications appointing them on Monday.

According to the notification, Professor Mohammad Fakhrul Maula, vice-principal of Chittagong Commerce College, has been appointed as the chairman of NCTB. 

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, controller of examinations at Mymensingh Education Board, has been appointed as the chairman of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

Meanwhile, Shamim Ara Chowdhury, secretary of the board, has been appointed as the chairman of Rajshahi Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. 

Md. Ahsan Parvez, principal of Daudkandi/Debidwar Government SS College, has been appointed as the chairman of Cumilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

On the other hand, Professor Farukh Azam Md. Abdus Salam, principal of Khulna's Haji Muhammad Mohsin College, has been appointed as the chairman of the Jessore Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

In addition, Professor Khondaker Mohammad Sadequr Rahman, secretary of the Cumilla Education Board, has been appointed as the chairman of the Madrasa Education Board.
