Agriculture sector allocation increased

A proposal has been made to increase allocation to the agriculture sector by Tk 6,209 crore in the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27. 

The proposal allocates a total of Tk 43,335 crore for the ministry of agriculture, food and fisheries and livestock. 

This amount is 0.63 percent of the country’s GDP. 

In the revised budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, Tk 37,126 crore (0.61 percent of GDP) was allocated for this sector.
