BSF takes back 12 people after 80 hours at Daulatpur border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has finally taken back 12 people who were stuck in a jute field on the zero line of the border after being pushed for 80 hours on the Daulatpur border in Kushtia. 

In this incident, a total of 12 people, including four children and four women, were stuck in the open air for four days in the sun, rain and severe shortage of food and water.

An attempt was made to push them into Bangladesh through the BSF's Pragpur border early last Friday. They were trapped in a jute field on the Indian side of the zero line of the border due to resistance from the BGB and locals. 

Due to being stuck for a long time, the physical condition of the children and women deteriorated and a humanitarian crisis arose in the entire area. Locals said that the situation had become increasingly dire during this time due to lack of food, water and shelter.

Despite the heated situation, the BGB maintained a firm stance on the border. On the other hand, local residents are also involved in surveillance and assistance in the border area, considering both security and humanitarian aspects. 

Later, an emergency flag meeting was held between the BGB and BSF at around 10:30 am on Monday. 

After the meeting, the BSF officially took the 12 people back to their territory at around 11 am. With the end of the long 80-hour standoff, peace returned to the border area.

The BGB said that they are following a 'zero tolerance' policy to prevent illegal infiltration through the border and no one will be allowed to enter without valid documents. 

However, at the same time, the problem has been resolved through coordination between the border guard forces of the two countries to avoid a humanitarian crisis.
