Govt publishes gazette declaring 'Nazrul Barsho'

The government has published a gazette declaring 'Nazrul Barsho'. The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.

The Cabinet Division's notification said that the government has decided to observe 'Nazrul Barsho' from May 25, 2026 to May 25, 2027. 

This announcement will be effective from May 25, 2026.

On the occasion of the 127th birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam at the national level, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs organised a programme in Trishal, Mymensingh on May 23.

At the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced the celebration of 'Nazrul Barsho' from May 25 of this year to May 25 of next year. 

In line with this, the gazette for the celebration of 'Nazrul Barsho' was published.
