21 senior police officers transferred in major reshuffle

The government has undertaken a significant reshuffle in the police administration, transferring and posting 21 senior officers of the BCS (Police) cadre. 

The officers include those holding the ranks of Additional Inspector General (Additional IG), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Additional DIG, and Superintendent of Police (SP).

A notification issued by the Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday detailed the transfers and new postings.

According to the notification, four officers promoted to Additional IG have been assigned to new positions. 

DIG Md. Mushfequr Rahman has been posted as Additional IG of Police, and Director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI) DIG Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, previously with CID, has been made Additional IG of CID.

Additionally, DIG of Chittagong Range Md. Moniruzzaman has been transferred as Additional IG of Police Telecom, while Additional Director General of RAB Faruk Ahmed (DIG) has been moved to Additional IG of Highway Police.

In the Additional DIG category, several officers have been reassigned.
