Mustafa Monwar’s void will not be easily filled: Rafiqun Nabi

Renowned cartoonist Rafiqun Nabi has expressed profound grief over the death of celebrated painter, art teacher, and cultural figure Mustafa Monwar. 

Upon learning of the artist’s passing on Monday morning, he visited his residence in Dhanmondi to pay his last respects.

In a brief statement to Daily Samakal, Rafiqun Nabi said: “Sir was one of the best artists in the creative world of our country. He was a prominent figure in the cultural arena. His death is an irreparable loss for the country and culture. The void he created will not be easily filled.”

Mustafa Monwar passed away this morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital. His death has cast a deep shadow of sorrow across the country’s art, literature, and cultural spheres.

Throughout his long career, Mustafa Monwar made significant contributions to painting, television production, and children’s programmes. 

He received the Ekushey Padak in 2004 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to art and culture.

His passing has brought mourning to the nation’s art, culture, and media communities. He played important roles in painting, children’s programme production, television, and broader cultural fields.
