China supports Bangladesh’s position in opposing foreign interference: Ambassador

China's Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen has said that China supports Bangladesh's position in opposing any kind of foreign interference. 

He said that this policy has been followed as part of China's foreign policy for the last 50 years.

He made the remarks in response to questions from journalists at a press conference organised at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday.

Yao Wen said, "Our policy, not only for Bangladesh, but also according to China's foreign policy, they do not support foreign interference in the internal affairs of any country. Sometimes foreign powers also try to influence China's internal affairs, which is part of their experience."

The ambassador further said that China understands the current situation that Bangladesh is going through. That is why China's position is clear in opposing foreign interference and Bangladesh is being supported in this regard. 

“If the Bangladesh-Myanmar-China Economic Corridor is implemented, the people of the three countries will benefit from it and regional cooperation will be further strengthened,”  said the envoy.

Regarding Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's recent visit to China, Yao Wen said that the visit was very successful and through it the strategic relations between the two countries have further improved. This visit has created a new chapter of mutual trust and cooperation.
