Heavy rainfall warning in eight divisions

Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that heavy rainfall may occur in different places in eight divisions of the country in the next 48 hours due to the influence of monsoon winds. 

This information was given in the heavy rainfall warning issued for the next 48 hours from 6am on Thursday.

The warning said that heavy rainfall of 44 to 88 millimetres and very heavy rainfall of more than 88 millimetres may occur in some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

The Meteorological Department said that temporary waterlogging may occur in various places in Dhaka and Chatogram metropolis due to heavy rains. At the same time, residents of the concerned areas have been advised to be alert as there is a risk of landslides in the hilly areas of Chatogram division.
