Bandarban tourist centres remain closed until Wednesday

All tourist centres in Bandarban have been ordered to stay closed until Wednesday, July 15, as the district administration extended a travel ban over fears of further natural disasters.

The ban was announced in a public notice issued by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Saniul Ferdous on Friday afternoon.

Citing ongoing heavy rainfall and the risk of disrupted communication and potential disasters, the administration extended an earlier notice that had been due to expire on Friday.

The notice prohibits tourists and the general public from visiting all tourist centres, waterfalls, mountain trails, river routes, remote areas, and other high-risk locations in the district until July 15.
