Students gather again at Science Lab demanding resignation of education minister

Students protesting for three points, including the resignation of the education minister, have once again taken up a position at Science Lab intersection after protesting in the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board area.

Around 3:45 pm on Tuesday, when the students took up a position in the Science Lab area, traffic on that road was stopped, causing severe traffic congestion in the surrounding areas.

Earlier in the morning, students blocked the Science Lab intersection in the capital. Later, they went in front of the Dhaka University VC's premises. Police stopped them there while going towards the university. Later, the students went to the Dhaka Board through Plassey intersection.

Students from various educational institutions including City College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Munshi Abdur Rouf College, Udayan College, Milestone College, Commerce College, Dhaka Oriental College, Hamdard Public College, Siddheshwari College participated in the movement.

The protesting examinees have made three points of demand. The demands are: Postponement of HSC exams until the adverse weather conditions completely normalise, re-examination arrangements for those who could not take the exam on July 13 due to inclement weather, and resignation of the Education Minister within the next 24 hours.

The students alleged that many candidates had to face extreme hardships in reaching the exam center due to the adverse weather. 

In addition, many could not take the exam as expected as they took the exam without completing the entire syllabus.
