Opportunity for re-examination, full marks for wrong questions: Education Minister

Students who could not participate in the HSC examination due to various reasons including adverse weather conditions will be able to re-take the examination, said Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon.

“The student will be able to participate in the examination on the same question paper as the exam postponed by the Chattogram Board due to floods,” he said. 

In addition, the minister informed the parliament that the examinees will be given full marks for the two questions that were wrong in the first paper of Physics held on July 13. 

Four people involved in formulating the wrong questions have been temporarily suspended, said Milon.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon made the announcement in the National Parliament on Wednesday under Rule 300. 

He said, “12,70,583 examinees are participating in the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations in 2,697 examination centers across the country. Recently, due to heavy rains and adverse weather conditions, the examinations of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Khagrachari, Rangamati and Bandarban under the Chattogram Education Board were postponed. In some districts of the country, some candidates could not participate in the scheduled exams due to adverse weather conditions and various reasons.”

The minister reiterated, "Those who could not participate in any subject of the ongoing HSC and equivalent exams due to adverse weather conditions or unavoidable reasons will be able to participate in the same exam paper of the relevant subject, which has already been postponed by the Chattogram Education Board, on the same date and time set by the Ministry of Education. 

The HSC exam is a very important step in the lives of students, so this special opportunity has been given with special consideration, he added

"Meanwhile, regarding the question mistakes in the Physics First Paper exam question paper, the education minister said, "Those responsible for preparing the wrong question paper of Physics First Paper have already been temporarily suspended." The education minister said, "I assure you once again that the candidates will be given full marks for the mistakes made in questions 6 and 7 of Physics First Paper."
