8 more children die of measles symptoms across country

Eight more children have died of measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning. 

During this period, 1,171 more people have been diagnosed with measles and its symptoms.

This information was provided in the regular measles report issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday. 

The report stated that three people have died of measles symptoms in Dhaka division in the last 12 hours. In addition, two people have died in Khulna division during this time, and one person each has died of measles symptoms in Sylhet, Mymensingh, and Chattogram divisions. 

In total, 779 people have died of measles and its symptoms across the country from March 15 to July 16, Thursday.

The DGHS said that 197 new measles cases have been identified across the country in the last 24 hours. In addition, 974 more people have shown symptoms of the disease during this period. 

With this, a total of 115,138 people have been found to have measles symptoms from March 15 to July 16, Thursday. Along with this, a total of 14,104 people have been diagnosed with measles during this period.

According to the report, a total of 97,919 people have been admitted to hospitals across the country with measles and its symptoms from March 15 to July 16, Thursday. Of them, 94,275 have recovered and been discharged from hospital so far.
