DU admission test application starts on November 11, exam in December

The online application for admission to the undergraduate programme of Dhaka University (DU) for the 2026-27 academic year will start on November 11. 

Applications will be accepted until 11:59 pm on November 25. 

The admission test for five units will start on December 5 and end on December 26.

The decisions were taken at the university’s general admission committee meeting held at the auditorium of Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Sunday with Vice-Chancellor Professor ABM Obaidul Islam in the chair.

It was informed in the meeting that this time too, the admission test will be held through five units – ‘Arts, Law and Social Sciences’, ‘Science’, ‘Business Education’, ‘Fine Arts’ and ‘IBA’.

According to the admission test schedule, the IBA unit exam will be held on December 5, the science unit on December 12, the arts, law and social sciences unit on December 19, the Fine Arts unit (general knowledge and drawing) on December 22 and the business education unit on December 26.

The exams for all units except the IBA unit will be held from 11 am to 12:30 pm while the IBA unit exam will run from 10 am to 12 pm.

The exams for the other three units, except the Fine Arts and IBA unit, will be held in eight divisional cities, including Dhaka. 

The centres are Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Chattogram University, Khulna University, Barishal University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University (Mymensingh), and Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur.

In addition, it has been decided to start classes for the next academic year on March 28, 2027.

The meeting was attended by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani, and Treasurer Professor M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, deans of various faculties, departmental chairmen, institute directors, hall provosts and other concerned officials.
