3 Bangladeshis killed, one injured in suspected fight among co-workers in Malaysia

Three Bangladeshi men were killed while another was seriously injured in what is believed to have been a fight among co-workers at a house in Taman Linggi in Malaysia on Monday afternoon.

Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said police also arrested a fellow Bangladeshi man in his 40s who is believed to be involved in the incident, reports the New Straits Times.

He said police received a report from members of the public at about 4.15pm on Monday about a fight involving several Bangladeshi nationals at the house.

"Acting on the information, a team from the Linggi police station rushed to the scene and arrested a Bangladeshi man in his 40s," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Alzafny said preliminary investigations later led police to the discovery of two more bodies at the Sua Manggis estate in Linggi.

"The three Bangladeshi men were confirmed dead after suffering severe injuries to various parts of their bodies, while another victim sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at Rembau Hospital," he said.

Initial investigations found that all those involved were co-workers who worked and lived at the same residence.

"The incident is believed to have occurred at several locations, and investigations are ongoing to establish the full sequence of events.

"Preliminary checks found that the suspect has no previous criminal record. He will be brought before the Port Dickson magistrate's court today for a remand application," he said.

Alzafny said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, adding that the motive remains under investigation.
