Six children have died of measles symptoms across the
country in the last 24 hours, according to a regular report released by the
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday afternoon.
During the same period, 80 people were infected with measles
and 1,021 others showed measles symptoms. The report noted that while six
children died of measles symptoms, no confirmed measles-related child deaths
were recorded.
Since March 15, a total of 809 children have died of measles
symptoms nationwide. Another 99 children have died of confirmed measles,
bringing the overall death toll from measles and measles symptoms to 908.
The DGHS said the cumulative number of suspected measles
cases from March 15 to date stands at 142,797.
