Justice AKM Asaduzzaman appointed ACC chairman

The government has appointed Justice AKM Asaduzzaman as chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

A gazette notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday said the appointment, made by the President, takes effect immediately.

Under Section 6(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004, Justice Asaduzzaman, Dr Jahangir Alam Khan and Dr M Sajjad Hossen Bhuiyan have been appointed ACC commissioners. Justice Asaduzzaman will serve as chairman under Section 5(1) of the Act.

The chairman will receive the salary, allowances, benefits and status equivalent to a judge of the Supreme Court’s Appellate Division, while the other two commissioners will receive benefits and status equivalent to High Court Division judges, according to the notification.
