EC issues gazette announcing Mirza Fakhrul as President

The Election Commission (EC) has issued a gazette announcing Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as the elected President of Bangladesh.

According to the EC gazette, as per the Section 11 of President Election Act 1991, and the announcement of election officer and election commissioner, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, son of Mirza Ruhul Amin of Kalibari village of Thakurgaon district, has been declared the president of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

The gazette notification, issued on Thursday evening, was signed by Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed.
