5 police officers promoted to additional IGP

Five officers of the Bangladesh Police have been promoted to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP) and placed in Grade-2 of the National Pay Scale, 2015.

A notification to this effect was issued on Sunday by the Police-1 unit of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It was signed by Deputy Secretary Toushif Ahmed on the orders of the President.

The officers are Md. Sayedur Rahman, Director of Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital; Md. Mainul Hasan, Additional IGP (Current Duty) of Tourist Police; Md. Israel Howlader, Police Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police; Md. Iqbal Hossain, DIG of Dhaka Range; and Md. Kamrul Ahsan, DIG of the Police Headquarters.

According to the notification, the promoted officers must submit their joining letters to the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs through the proper channels. The order, issued in the public interest, takes effect from the date of joining of the concerned officers.
