Four more people die of dengue

Four more people have died of dengue across the country till Thursday morning. With this, a total of 111 people have died this year. 1,252 new patients have been admitted to various hospitals in the country. 

The number of patients currently undergoing treatment has reached 2,954.

This information was given in the regular dengue press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.

It said that out of the four deaths, two were men and two were women. One of them was a child and the rest were adults. 

Out of the total 111 deaths, 61 were women or 55 percent and 50 were men or 45 percent, it said.

The DGHS said that in Dhaka division, 37 died in hospitals under the South City Corporation (DSCC), 16 in hospitals under the North City Corporation (DNCC), and three outside the city corporation. A total of 19 dengue victims died in Khulna, 12 in Mymensingh, 10 in Barishal, eight in Chittagong, four in Rajshahi and one each in Rangpur and Sylhet.

So far, 39,532 people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue. Of them, 36,467 have been cured and discharged.
