9 die of dengue in a single day

At least nine dengue patients died and 1,571 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8:00am on Tuesday.

The number of deaths and hospitalisations reached their highest single-day levels this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the deaths, three were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation areas, it said.

Two each died in Khulna and Dhaka divisions and one each in Barishal and Mymensingh divisions.

With the new deaths and cases, the total number of deaths rose to 130 and cases to 45,475, 

Meanwhile, 3,218 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.
