Three more children die with measles symptoms

Three more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the 24 hours starting at 8am on Saturday, raising the combined death toll from confirmed measles and measles symptoms to 1,022 since March 15.

Seven children died with suspected measles in the latest 24-hour period, bringing the total number of deaths from suspected measles since March 15 to 922, according to a press release from the DGHS control room. 

No deaths from confirmed measles were recorded in the past 24 hours. 

A total of 100 children have died from confirmed measles between March 15 and September 13.

In the same period, 905 new suspected measles cases were reported, taking the cumulative total of suspected cases to 171,543. Confirmed measles cases rose by 63 to reach 20,069 since March 15.

From March 15 to September 13, a total of 151,024 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals, while 145,252 were discharged.
