7 more die of dengue in 24 hours last

Seven more people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of dengue deaths this year to 164, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).  

A total of 1,593 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period. Of them, 696 were in Dhaka Division, 82 in Mymensingh Division, 165 in Chattogram Division, 290 in Khulna Division, 159 in Barishal Division, 137 in Rajshahi Division, 65 in Rangpur Division and nine in Sylhet Division.  

Meanwhile, 1,566 dengue patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours.  

So far this year, 55,163 people have been hospitalised with dengue across the country. Of them, 50,941 have recovered and been discharged.  

Last year, 102,861 people were infected with dengue and 413 died from the disease.
