11 more children die with measles symptoms

Another 11 children have died across the country in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning with symptoms of measles. 

During this period, 1,270 new patients were admitted to various hospitals with measles or related symptoms.

This information was disclosed on Wednesday in the Directorate General of Health Services' (DGHS) regular report on measles.

The report states that in the last 24 hours, deaths occurred as follows: six in Dhaka Division, one in Sylhet Division, two in Chattogram, one in Khulna, and two in Rangpur.

According to DGHS data, the total death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms in the country since March 15 has risen to 1,076. Of these, 101 deaths were confirmed as measles cases, while 975 involved patients with measles symptoms.

The report further noted that measles symptoms were detected in 1,157 individuals over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected infections to 183,449. 

Additionally, 113 people were confirmed to have measles during this period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 20,851.

Since March 15, a total of 162,048 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country with suspected measles. During the same period, 155,612 patients recovered and returned home.
