Three more children die with measles symptoms

Three children have died with symptoms of measles across the country in the last 24 hours. However, there were no confirmed deaths from measles during this period.

This information was disclosed on Friday in the Directorate General of Health Services’ regular report on measles. 

According to data from DGHS, one person each died with symptoms of measles in the districts of Dhaka, Habiganj and Kushtia over the past 24 hours. 

During the same period 64 cases of measles were confirmed. 

To date the total number of confirmed measles cases stands at 21,015.

The report states that the total death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms in the country this year has risen to 1,084. 

Of these, 101 deaths were confirmed to be caused by measles, while 983 individuals died with symptoms of the disease.

Additionally, 1,201 people were found to have measles symptoms in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected infections to 185,833.
