PM, Saudi FM discuss expanding Saudi investment in Bangladesh

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud on Thursday discussed economic cooperation between the two countries and the potential for expanding Saudi investment in Bangladesh.

The meeting was held at the UN Bilateral Booth (GAL-7) at the United Nations Headquarters in the afternoon local time on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), said PM’s Assistant Press Secretary KM Nazmul Haque.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, trade and investment, manpower, development cooperation and regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The prime minister laid emphasis on further deepening and expanding the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, including through greater economic engagement and investment.

The Saudi foreign minister expressed Saudi Arabia’s interest in further advancing the relations between the two countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on various regional and international issues of mutual interest.
