465 arrested in 24hrs across capital

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 465 people in the past 24 hours during routine raids across the capital.

Police said 31 cases were filed during the period, according to a DMP press release issued on Saturday.

The arrests included 109 by Mirpur division, 83 by Tejgaon, 65 by Wari, 47 by Motijheel, 46 by Gulshan, 45 by Ramna, 39 by Lalbagh, 27 by Uttara, three by the Detective Branch and one by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit.

During the operations, police seized 643 yaba tablets, 60.3 kg of cannabis, 21 grams of heroin, 4,700 tapentadol tablets, 11 mobile phones and a truck.

Legal proceedings against the detainees were underway.
