BNP’s Mintoo, family on Paradise Papers

Names of Bangladeshi nationals and organisations surfaced in the massive document leak known as Paradise Papers.   

On Friday, newly 25,000 files were published where the names of BNP Vice Chairman and former FBCCI President Abdul Awal Mintoo, his wife Nasreen Fatema Awal, and three sons -- Tabith Mohammed Awal, Tafsir Mohammed Awal and Tajwar Muhammed Awal – were surfaced. 

According to the Paradise Papers, Mintoo and his family members are shareholders and held top positions of the offshore company - NFM Energy Ltd  - registered in Bermuda since 1999.

The Paradise Papers is a special investigation by the Guardian and 95 media partners worldwide into a leak of 13.4m files from two offshore service providers and 19 tax havens' company registries.
